Agenda

• Don't forget KCI's Open House is taking place tomorrow - Tuesday, September 30th from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Come meet the staff, take a tour of the school, check out recent artwork, watch some action-packed football, and have a burger and pop for $2!

• Health Services brochures are now overdue

•  Science - Remedies for Common Illnesses table due on Wednesday, Oct. 1st

• ELA - bring your supplies for your experiments on Wednesday 

•  Place Value math test on Thursday, Oct. 2nd

Agenda

• The grade 5 and 6 classes are going on a fall hike tomorrow (the first day of fall)! Remember to dress for the weather, wear running shoes, and to bring a bagged lunch and water.
• Wednesday is the Terry Fox Run and our first assembly of the year. Wear red and white on Wednesday in honour of Terry Fox. Also, remember to bring your Terry Fox donations to the school by then as well.

Two weeks in!

We're almost half-way through September and we've had a great start to the year in 5A!

Here is some info. you may be interested to know:

• Students have taken home information about Class Dojo, a classroom tool that helps to track positive behaviour. Provided in that info. are steps that explain how to log in at your home computer or from a personal electronic device (cell phone, tablet etc). Some parents have been experiencing troubles with the app so I will do the best I can to troubleshoot. In the meantime, please continue to log in using a computer.

• The Terry Fox run is taking place on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 24th. Please stay tuned for more information. There is also a school-wide assembly in Gym #1 that morning.

• KCI's Open House will feature a BBQ in conjunction with a home football game on Tuesday, September 30th. More details will be shared in the near future!

Welcome to KCI and the Wonderful World of Grade 5!

Hello grade 5 students and families!

I am excited to be starting a new school year once again at KCI. I have enjoyed getting to know those of you I've met over the last couple of days. I look forward to meeting more parents and guardians very soon! I think we're off to a great start so far. Let's make the 2014/2015 school year your best one yet!

Don't forget to get your forms into the school as soon as possible so that our class has the chance to win an ice cream prize. :)
